Providence is calling a Stationary Engineer (Full-time/Variable Shift) to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA.

We are seeking a Stationary Engineer who will operate and maintain boilers, HVAC systems and other auxiliary equipment necessary for producing steam for heating, sterilization, and domestic hot water for the hospital.
In this position you will:
Implement and maintain established department, unit, and hospital policies, procedures, and objectives as well as improving organization performance program, safety, environmental, and infection control policies.
Operate and maintain boilers; observe various meters and gauges and take appropriate action for safe operation.
Start, stop, and switch over boiler as appropriate.
Clean and repair boilers, blow tubes, and discharge sediment; regulate feed water and condensation pumps and lubricate pump equipment.
Clean inside of boiler walls and repair and/or replaces broken or worn parts.
Test boiler and cooling tower water samples; assign proper chemical treatment to boiling and cooling waters.
Perform periodic inspections of mechanical rooms that are within the 10 minute L.A. City Rule for high pressure boiler operators to ensure proper operation of heat, air conditioning and ventilation, and medical support equipment.
Participate in educational programs and in-service training meetings.
Attend meetings as required.

Analyze problems and take appropriate action to ensure continuous and reliable operation of equipment and systems.
Keep work areas orderly, clean and safe. Ensure proper care in the use of equipment and supplies.
Assist with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
Maintain professional growth and development.
Provide suggestions to management to improve overall quality and day-to-day operations.
Assist in developing and maintaining department records and reports, and collecting statistical data.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement
Current L.A. City 500 Horsepower Steam Engineer’s License
2 years Experience; preferably hospital experience
