Providence is calling a Senior Secretary (On Call, Day Shift) to Providence St Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA.

We are seeking a Senior Secretary who will performs a broad range of secretarial duties including typing, filing, answering telephone, and related functions.
In this position you will:
Perform basic office functions (i.e., answers telephones and takes messages, maintains filing systems, appointment calendar, schedules and coordinates meetings, makes travel arrangements, etc.)
Respond to customer complaints in a timely manner and/or refers to appropriate department for resolution
Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, improving organization performance program, and safety standards
Open and route incoming mail; distributes correspondence and other material to staff
Compose and type letters, memoranda and reports from written copy, dictaphone equipment or transcription. Proofs materials for errors
Attend meetings as required
Perform various clerical duties relating to the functions of the department (i.e., registers patients, bills clients, etc.) and assists with special projects
Prepare management/production reports/data by compiling information from a variety of internal/external sources
Participate in educational programs and in service meetings
Function as one of the unit safety officers and performs quarterly assessments of the environment of care and patient care areas. (ICU/CCU-PSJ only)
The following job accountabilities may be reassigned:
Perform payroll and personnel related duties (i.e., maintaining employee timecards, preparing employee profiles, etc.)
May oversee work of clerical staff.Coordinate administrative functions of the ASC, schedule and confirm all surgical procedures, communicate relevant information to and from physician offices, perform data entry, as well as create and organize patient charts
Two (2) years Secretarial experience
Ability to operate word processor
Good typing skills
Knowledge of one or more software packages (i.e., WordPerfect, Lotus)
Good verbal and written communication skills
Must be bilingual (employees working in Diabetes Program Center)
