Providence Health & Services Senior Manager Reimbursement – Ops in Burbank, California
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Senior Manager Reimbursement Ops to our location in Burbank, CA, Irvine, CA, Portland, OR or Renton, WA.
We are seeking a Senior Manager Reimbursement – Ops to serve as a day-to-day face of the Reimbursement department to all other Providence entities. This position is responsible for operational implementation of various strategic reimbursement initiatives for the system to include evaluation, planning, coordination and follow through to completion of such initiatives that include but are not limited to: Wage index reviews, Medicare Bad Debt optimization strategies, Medicaid Eligible Days reviews, various cost based optimization strategies, and any reimbursement methodology related to Medicare and Medicaid that have reimbursement implications.
The Senior Manager is responsible for effective executive interface with ministry finance leaders; working in ways that are in compliance with all government reimbursement regulations and adequacy of internal controls; efficient operation of the functional team, including supervision and review of staff, assessing current workloads, and providing adequate oversight and prioritization of reimbursement related projects.
The incumbent performs all duties in a manner that promotes Providence mission, values, and philosophy. In all aspects, he/she serves as a role model for the values and mission of the organization.
In this position you will:
Serve as a liaison between the Reimbursement Department and ministry finance leaders.
Serve as a liaison with various entities within Providence Strategic & Management Services.
Manage the analysis and calculation of the impact of regulatory changes.
Manage reimbursement activities related to mergers and acquistions.
Manage the evaluation and preparation of various reimbursement optimization strategies and makes recommendations that positively impact existing reimbursement schemes.
Monitor workload and methodologies used to achieve results, making recommendations to improve efficiency and/or achieve cost savings whenever possible.
Plan functional team workload and manage such that all reports, projects, etc., are completed timely, efficiently, and with a high degree of accuracy. Responsible for review and evaluation of staff in accordance with Providence system policies.
Collaborate with professional colleagues around the system to probe, evaluate, synthesize, and articulate complex subject matter to facilitate needed improvements.
Perform reviews, research and other duties independently or as requested by the Sr Dir Reimbursement Ops, or the Chief Reimbursement Officer.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance OR an equivalent combination of education/experience.
Eight (8) years demonstrated experience in the reimbursement field is required, along with supervisory/management experience, and expert knowledge of current reimbursement and reporting rules and regulations.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Previous work experience in consulting, in a multi-hospital system, or MAC.
Prior experience with CA Medicaid/MediCAL
CPA or CHFP
