Providence is calling a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) (Full-Time/Night shift) at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA.

We are seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) who will provide respiratory therapy to patients as ordered by physicians according to established standards and practices. Demonstrates proficiency in delivering care to age-specific patient population (e.g., infants, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, pediatrics), and participates in related continuing education.
In this position you will:
Maintain established department policies, procedures, objectives, improving organization performance program, infection control, and safety standards
Set up equipment and medications and administer respiratory treatment as ordered by the physician; charts treatment, response, and progress
Monitor environmental control systems and patients on continuous ventilation
Observe patients, check equipment, and makes changes as necessary during patient rounds
Set up bronchoscopy equipment and assists physicians during procedures
Perform nasotracheal and tracheal suctioning
Perform arterial blood gas testing and analysis
Maintain professional growth and development
Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings
In addition to the above accountabilities, following are position accountabilities for employees providing care to neonates:
Set up oxygen equipment such as high flow nasal cannula, oxygen hood, and nasal CPAP. Administers respiratory treatment as ordered by the physician; charts treatment, response, and progress
Set up and monitors conventional ventilation, non-invasive ventilation and high frequency ventilation as ordered by physician
Perform endotracheal intubation on the neonate
Respond to Labor and Delivery for all C-sections and deliveries
Participate in transports within the hospital of sick neonates
Provide quality control and maintenance on the blood gas machine located in the NICU
Stock and maintain equipment needed to provide respiratory support to patients in the NICU
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Licensed in Respiratory Care in the State of California
RRT required for all Respiratory Therapist
Respiratory Therapists currently employed and credentialed prior to 1/1/15 are grandfathered as CRTs
CPR - Adult, Child, Infant (Provider), including Obstructed Airway Management, sponsored by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
One (1) year clinical experience as a Respiratory Therapist
