Providence Health & Services Radiology Technician in Burbank, California
Providence is calling a Radiology Technician (Per diem/Variable shift) to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA.
This opening will utilize the Modern Hire Video Prescreen Tool. If invited to this prescreen, candidates who complete this process will be given preference for interview consideration (Please note: Completing this process does not guarantee that you will be selected for an in-person interview).
We are seeking a Radiology Technician who will perform various diagnostic radiographic procedures according to accepted department protocols and hospital policy and procedure.
In this position you will:
Follow Universal Protocol at all times to ensure correct patient, correct procedure, and correct side
Maintain established department policies, procedures, improving organization performance program, patient/customer safety, environmental and infection control standards
Perform radiographic procedures; obtain patient history, prepare patient for the exam, explain exam, and ensure patient cooperation and safety during the procedure
Prepare written documentation as required by the department, such as consents, evaluation results, progress and other reports, stat readings, and checks
Check patient chart or prescription for correctness of orders, check with radiologist or nurse as needed for quality patient care
Recognize adverse reactions and contraindications, and act accordingly
Exam completion duties: Sign off on requisitions/orders, Perform ITS functions such as such completing and billing of exams, periodic tracking of requests and sending digital images to PACS and following up on STAT procedures
Select and operate appropriate equipment
Check equipment, supplies, and accessories on a regular basis, maintain orderliness and cleanliness of work areas
Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in service meetings, and workshops
Attend meetings as required
The following job accountabilities may be reassigned:
Operate mammography, stereotactic, and ultrasound equipment. Set up patient and records quality assurance data. Perform quality assurance testing and maintains records
Assist medical staff during special procedures
Act as patient educator prior to catheterization to explain procedure and answers questions; explain steps during the procedure, maintain records of examination data and other pertinent information on patients
Transport patients to radiographic room; prepares and maintains rooms
Train other technologists in day to day procedures
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current Basic Life Support ( BLS ) certification for Healthcare Providers sponsored by the American Heart Association
Current CRT with fluoro certification preceded by the prefix RHF
Must be knowledgeable of Computerized Radiography (CR), Picture Archival and Communication System (PACS) & Radiology & Hospital Information System (RIS/HIS)
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
