Providence is calling a MRI Technologist (Per-Diem/Variable Shift) to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA.
We are seeking a MRI Technologist who will perform MRI scans according to accepted department protocols and hospital policy and procedures. Demonstrate proficiency in delivering care to assigned age specific patient population (e.g., infants, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, pediatrics), and participate in related continuing education.
In this position you will:
Follow Universal Protocol at all times to ensure correct patient, correct procedure, and correct side
Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, improving organization performance program, patient/customer safety, environmental and infection control standards
Perform MRI scans; use appropriate accession numbers on requisition, obtain patient history, prepare patient for the exam, explains exam, and ensure patient cooperation during the study
Ensure MRI scans are completed according to approved protocols, and sent to PACS
Recognize adverse reactions and contraindications, and act appropriately
Operate patient monitoring equipment, sets patient up, monitor and record data
Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in service meetings, and workshops.
Attends meetings as required
Assist with scheduling MRI scans, and coordinate patient flow in the MRI area
Complete paperwork and billing functions; verify and sign off inpatient orders, completes ITS functions
Plan protocols, consulting patient exam history (including nuclear medicine, ultrasound reports), radiologist and RN when appropriate
The following job accountabilities may be reassigned:
Transport patients to MRI room; prepare and maintain room for daily activities
Request and order supplies as necessary to keep materials on hand at all times
Required qualifications for this position include:
Successful completion of a radiology program
BLS for Healthcare Providers sponsored by the American Heart Association. NOTE: If employee/applicant has certification by the American Red Cross-CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, this will be accepted until card expiration date.
Three (3) years MRI technologist experience.
Thorough knowledge of MRI practices and procedures with GE 1.5T, Excite or newer OS AND Siemens 1.5T, Syngo or newer OS
Advanced MRI certification with A.R.R.T. and CRT.
Experience with GE or Siemens equipment preferred
