Providence Monitor Technician in Burbank, California
Providence is calling a Monitor Technician (Per-Diem/Day Shift) to our Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA.
We are seeking a Monitor Technician who will monitor electrocardiography according to established standards and practices. Attend nursing station and perform clerical and reception duties. Requisition supplies, equipment, and services as directed.
In this position you will:
Implement and maintain established department, unit, and hospital policies, procedures, and objectives as well as improving organization performance program, safety, environmental, and infection control policies
Prioritize work and provides prompt and efficient service
Observe cardiac monitors and documents rhythm strips in accordance with critical care standards
Promptly and accurately report rhythm variances to the charge nurse and/or nurse responsible for the patient’s care
Run strips and identifies rhythms at least every shift
Maintain monitoring equipment, printers and supplies; reports equipment malfunction to Biomedical Engineering and charge nurse
Requisition supplies and equipment, maintenance and repair services, and prepares related forms. Keeps stock and equipment inventories
Perform clerical duties related to procedures such as admission, discharge, transfer, and death
Keep patient records current
Photocopy information, files information, and answers the telephone, takes messages, and directs calls
Maintain a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families accordance with hospital standards
Assist with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies
Maintain department records, reports, and files as required
Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings
Attend meetings as required
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Completion of basic dysrhythmia course
MOAB I/II required within 30 to 150 days of hire for employees in Emergency Department and PARC
Maintain filing systems
Maintain patient charts
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Completion of course for ward secretaries and medical terminology.
