Providence Manager, Imaging Services in Burbank, California


Providence is calling a Manager, Imaging Services (Full time/Day shift) to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA.

We are seeking a Manager, Imaging Services who will be manage the day-to-day operations of the Nuclear Medicine, CAT Scan, MRI and Ultrasound departments. Oversee safety and regulatory issues. Supervise, orient, train and respond to staff issues. Demonstrate proficiency in delivering care to assigned age-specific patient population (e.g., infants, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, pediatrics), and participates in related continuing education.

In this position you will:

  • Assume responsibility for the day-to-day activities in the CAT Scan, MRI, Nuclear Medicine and Ultrasound of the Imaging Services Department at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center. Also acts as liaison between other departments and sites within the California region

  • Work closely and in concert with the Director of Imaging Services to assure that the department is in compliance with all local, state, and federal requirements

  • Work in concert with the PACS Administrator to ensure departmental objectives are being met in relation to digital operations

  • Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, improving organization performance program, patient/customer safety, environmental and infection control standards. Assists in the development and maintenance of Imaging policies and procedures

  • Assume responsibility for the staff evaluations in the CAT Scan, MRI, Nuclear Medicine and Ultrasound Departments

  • Provide leadership in the development and maintenance of the department's Performance Improvement activities. Coordinates collecting and reporting of data to the appropriate committees and councils

  • Be responsible for maintaining appropriate productivity. Assists in operating and capital budget preparation Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, CAT Scan and MRI

  • Communicate with the radiologists and other medical staff members concerning any and all clinical issues involving MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, and CAT Scan areas

  • Enhance professional growth and maintain current licensure/credentials through participation in educational programs, current literature, inservices, and workshops. Serves as liaison to the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) to ensure radiologic and fluoroscopic compliance is maintained for all technologists

  • Responsible for maintaining and enhancing the technical skills of staff members through process improvement initiatives and projects including policy and program review, monthly radiologic training activities and in-service training sessions, and departmental cross-training opportunities to enhance mission capabilities

  • Actively participate in interdepartmental activities to include committees, action teams, and interdepartmental projects. Responsible for monthly team building activities that encourage unit cohesion and cross collaboration efforts across multiple radiology modalities

  • Attend and leads meetings as required

  • Oversee development/maintenance of quality control procedures in the department including daily and weekly equipment calibration and quality assurance procedure (QAP) is performed on all fixed and mobile radiology units

  • Work closely with the hospital Radiation Safety Officer to ensure national and state regulatory compliance in accordance with the standards set forth by the National Council of Radiation Protection (NCRP), the ARRT, and the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT)

  • Perform interim duties typically associated with the position of Director of Radiology in director’s absence including budget and staffing meetings, safety council meetings, and bi-weekly UOR (Unusual Occurrence Report) meetings


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • BLS for Healthcare Providers sponsored by the American Heart Association. (NOTE: If employee/applicant has certification by the American Red Cross-CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, this will be accepted until card expiration)

  • Three (3) or more years Supervisory or management experience or equivalent

  • Recent Imaging management experience in a hospital setting

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Clinical experience in at least two imaging modalities

  • Experience submitting for and maintaining ACR Accreditation for all modalities
