Providence is calling a Distribution Tech (Part-Time/Day Shift) to the Operating Room at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA.
We are seeking a Distribution Tech who will perform a variety of tasks including issuing supplies, maintaining inventories, compiling stock records, and laundry and linen pickup.
In this position you will:
Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, improving organization performance program, and safety standards.
Load and unload truck using pallet jack, four-wheel truck, two-wheel cart, and hydraulic tailgate.
Transport and deliver material and supporting documentation to off-site locations.
Maintain the vehicles, drives them to designated service station for refueling, and maintains service records.
Organize and maintain records pertinent to stock levels, supply quantities issued, and other data; recommends modifications to quotas or inventories.
Assist with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
Receive requests for supplies, selects stock from inventory, and loads distribution vehicles.
Distribute supplies to designated areas.
Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings.
Attend meetings as required.
Check items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination and routing are correct.
Act as advisor/resource to all departments with regard to supply, equipment, and service needs.
Check materials against vendors' invoices, bills of lading, customer orders and similar papers.
Coordinate items for shipment by commercial conveyance by preparing bills of lading and/or other documents as required.
Coordinate with purchasing all items returned to vendor for credit or items to be disposed of.
Work with buyer concerning product changes and inventory problems. Informs purchasing of all products no longer being requested by users.
Count, weigh and identify items in receiving and shipping department.
Deliver items to requisitioning departments and obtains authorized signatures for accepted items.
Ensure that all supplies and equipment received are processed and distributed in a timely manner.
Inspect incoming orders to verify type, quantity, and condition against orders.
Verify correctness of incoming shipments against bills of lading; maintains records of goods received.
Route incoming goods to the proper departments.
Inspect shipments for damages or defects; record discrepancies or damages in shipment and notifies supervisor and/or purchasing personnel.
Prepare and maintain shipping records, makes up bills of lading and posts weight and shipping charges and other documentation for shipment of materials, parts, finished goods and related items.
Provide for the inspection of incoming material against orders and specifications for correctness, quantity, type and defects. Arranges for return of defective material.
Reject damaged goods or materials and corresponds with shipper to adjust damages or shortages.
Uncrate and assemble equipment; ensure that patient care equipment has been properly labeled and inspected.
Unpack and sort incoming merchandise.
Store, stock, and distribute IV solutions for all nursing stations, ancillary departments, and crash carts.
The following job accountabilities may be reassigned:
Remove outdated sterile or other unused supplies and returns them to central supply for reprocessing or to general stores for disposition.
Maintain department records, reports, and files as required.
Keep records of damaged or defective items; discrepancies in quantities and weights; and time, date, quantity, source and destination of materials received or shipped.
Load or unload material, equipment, merchandise or supplies from automobiles, trucks or other vehicles.
Pack, wrap, box or crate materials to be shipped; attaches bill of lading.
Participate in the assembling and shipping of outgoing merchandise or material.
Prepare documentation for shipment of materials, parts, finished goods and related items.
Receive incoming materials, supplies, and equipment and compare information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement.
California Driver's License.
Experience in stock and distribution procedures.
