Providence Health & Services Clinical Risk Manager in Burbank, California
Providence is calling a full time Manager of Clinical Risk Management to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA.
In this position you will:
Provide investigative and project management support to Clinical Operations
Analyze risk management data
Lead facility wide projects
Prepare claims files (med mal, auto and general liability insurance)
Work with claims and legal counsel in case management; assist in determining claims causation
Provide education to the facility relating to risk, regulatory compliance, and support compliance with applicable regulatory agencies and the Joint Commission
Work closely with Clinical Risk Managers ensuring risk management functions are consistent, effective and efficient while collectively ensuring best practices are being used
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license, or equivalent or higher level licensure
Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) or must be obtained within 1 year of hire date
At least 7 years of acute care clinical experience
Knowledge of national healthcare trends, multi-disciplinary professional practice models, information systems, quality management and customer service needs
Knowledge of the fundamentals of risk management, patient safety and/or performance improvement
Knowledge of regulatory requirement, state and federal laws
Must be able to work efficiently and effectively in a matrix structured environment
Must possess strong presentation and interpersonal skills that display a presence of clinical knowledge in a wide range of settings
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Hospital operations experience
